Astounding Science Fiction - August 1939 - Robert Heinlein - First published story Life-line

Robert Heinlein is referred to as the "dean of science fiction writers" and is famous for stories such as Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers (yes, that Starship Troopers!), and The Moon In a Harsh Mistress. But before he joined Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke in the "Big Three" of science fiction authors, he started with a single story called Life-line in August 1939 in Astounding Science Fiction magazine. Interestingly, this story was published only one month after Isaac Asimov made his debut in the magazine, and is considered with the July 1939 issue as the beginning of the Golden Age of science fiction.
